The CFWA is a Board made up of either Direcetors who are voted in at the AGM. Directors are granted two year terms with five members up for election each year. The following Members have been voted in by affiliated CFWA Leagues.

Brendon Simpson (President)

Elected in 2020, Quairading born and bread with business interests in Kalgoorlie. Brendon has a passionate link with both the Avon and Golfields regions. Previously a highly regarded Senior Coach, he was successfully transitioned from a player, to a metor and now into directorship. He believes an "all of country football approach" is extremely important for CFWA. Brendon was nominated as CFWA President after our Special AGM in July 2023.  

Ian Stanley (Senior Vice President)

Ian has been involved with the Kalannie FC and the Central Wheatbelt FL in playing and leadership roles for the past 32 years. Ian owns and operates a wheat and sheep farm in Kalannie and is widely recognised as a spokesperson for the integrated farm forestry industry in Australia. A CFWA Volunteer of the Year award winner in 2014 and life member of the Kalannie FC, Ian joined CFWA in 2015.

John Shadbolt 

Played approximately 200 league games for Mukinbudin Football Club as well as representing the Central Wheatbelt Football League on numerous occasions. John has held various administration positions with the Mukinbudin FC and Central Wheatbelt FL and is a Life Member of the Mukinbudin FC. John resides in Mukinbudin and became a Director in 2008. Awarded CFWA Life Membership in 2018, John was President for 5.5years and made a huge contribution to our restructure and new branding. 

Greg Baird 

Greg joined CFWA in 2017 and brings with him a wealth of experience from football in the Mortlock where he was a former President for five years. Greg has experience on the League Committee, and with the Goomalling FC, and has run a successful Agribusiness in the region. He has a passion for grass roots football due to the social impact it can have in regional communities.  

Helen Ockerby

Elected in 2021, Helen, a Kimberley resident has worked in the sport and recreation industry for over 15 years, this includes education, social and emotional well-being spaces. Helen is currently a Director on the Glass Jar Australia Board, Glass Jar are the Foundation behind the “Shooting Stars” Program. Helen is also a previous Director of Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan. On the football side of things Helen has been a player, coach, manager and member of leadership groups for her local football team. Helen has played football since High School and worked alongside communities to help grow the game and has been an integral part in growing the female participation program “Making her Mark” encouraging leadership through football.

Curtis Guglielmana

Elected in 2023,Curtis was raised in both the Gascoyne and South-West Regions of WA and played 265 senior football games, 190 of these across the SWFL and CWFL country competitions, including playing representative footall and WA State Country. This was followed on by Senior coaching, playing and committee roles in the Perth Football League for 7 years. Curtis is the General Manager of a national health and human services organisation, with a keen interest to improve the impact, sustainability and overall health of the Country Football in WA, so that our communities may thrive sustainably into the future.
